Pastor Jeff’s Corner for July: A Great Adventure Awaits

Hello dear friends in Christ.

Can you believe we are halfway through 2020 already? I realize it’s been a very different year than we had planned, but as followers of Christ, we have many opportunities to point people in the direction of Jesus Christ. In other words, we can say to those searching for answers; Follow The Son!
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, John 14:6.

As I begin serving in my seventh year as your pastor, I am dreaming and excited about our ministry in the midst of challenging times. We have the answer to all the challenges anyone can face in the person of Jesus Christ. How will God see us through this time of adversity, illness and unrest? How
will we use our gifts, talents and resources to grow the kingdom to the glory of God?

Through 75 years of ministry, we’ve had 3900+ worship services, hundreds of baptisms, weddings and celebrations of life. Not to mention those who have said “yes” to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and those who have been called into different areas of ministry to serve the church and
humanity.

Thank you for all the love you have shown me over these past years and I look forward to what God has in store for us in the next 75 years, how about you? We may not know exactly what this ministry will look like, but we must invite the guidance of the Holy Spirit to order our steps for our direction in ministry. We may have to operate out of our comfort zone to accomplish the ministry God is calling us to live out.

Knowing Jesus and making Jesus known is a great statement to guide our future vision. How will God work through you and I today and in the days to come? As the Christian singer/songwriter Stephen Curtis Chapman wrote, “Saddle up your horses…we’ve got a trail to blaze!” This is the great
adventure in serving Christ.

God loves you and so do I,
Pastor Jeff
