Pastor Jeff’s Corner for September: “See You in September”

The above title is not just a popular song from 1966, it’s an expression of hope in September of 2020. For almost six months we have found ourselves often limited in where we could go or what we could do. But with school starting, many hope this is a sign of good things to come.

We are already back meeting for in-person worship and will begin meeting in our Sanctuary on Sunday, September 6th at 10:00 am. We will continue to practice social distancing, staying home if we’re sick and wearing masks as long as health officials advise. But we are BACK, worshipping God together while also continuing to offer ChurchOnTheCouch.org for those who can’t make live worship on our campus.

We are also beginning to stream our live worship service to our website and ChurchOnTheCouch.org. Our mission calls us to communicate the good news of Jesus Christ in ways that meet people where they are.

One thing Jesus did in his ministry was to go where the people were. Mark 1 16As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net in the lake, for they were fishermen. 17 “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” 18 At once they left their nets and followed him.

With 75 years under our belts in ministry, I’m excited about where God will take us in the days to come. How about you? Where is God calling you to serve and how willing are you to move out of your comfort zone!

Now is the time to push forward to share Christ at a time when people are hurting and searching. If you haven’t heard, we have a lake too and some of the best fishermen and fisherwomen in the world! It’s September and it’s time to be immersed in our Mission field.

Will you join me?

God loves you and so do I,
Pastor Jeff
