Pastor Jeff’s Corner for April 2021: “Onward & Upward”

Spring is in the air! There is also a good bit of optimism as we continue to vaccinate people and return to a new normalcy. I am reminded of the hope this scripture declares in 1 Corinthians 15:50-52; 50I declare to you, brother and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not sleep, but we will all be changed—52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.

For some, change is scary, while for others change is an adventure. Maybe we can all agree that this past year has been a challenge for us to change in certain ways. Following Christ calls us to change from the inside out— so that we can be the light of Jesus here on earth. How do you see yourself changing as you follow Christ? As your church home we hope to provide ways in which to stimulate your spiritual growth.

We are beginning to plan events including but not limited to: VBS in July, a gospel music series beginning in November and a return to Sunday School classes in the fall for all ages.

As we enter into Holy Week, we continue to worship King Jesus as we remember His life, death, resurrection and the defeat of sin and death. In so many ways the gospel is full of hope and new beginnings. I pray that as we celebrate Easter, you will begin a new relation-ship or commit to having a closer relationship with God.
To God be the glory for the things He has done!

See you in person at 10:00 am or online streaming at ChurchOnTheCouch.org.
God loves you and so do I.
