Pastor Jeff’s Corner for April 2022: “A Christian Trait: Discipline”

People Need the Lord (lyrics by Steve Green)

Everyday they pass me by, I can see it in their eyes Empty people filled with care, Headed who knows where
On they go through private pain, Living fear to fear Laughter hides their silent cries, Only Jesus hears
People need the Lord, people need the Lord At the end of broken dreams, He’s the open door People need the Lord, people need the Lord When will we realize people need the Lord?

If you’ve never heard the above song before, as we approach Easter, now would be a great time. I continue to be concerned that time is closing in, and time is running out for folks to accept Jesus Christ as their Savior. My messages have taken on a more urgent tone over the past few years because of what is happening around me and the signs we see in this world. And more importantly, I believe the Holy Spirit is moving not only in our church but throughout Christen-dom alerting us to the fact that the end of days is getting nearer and nearer. Unfortunately, there will be some that do not answer the call to enter into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

We have tons of scripture reminding us of this fact. Here are a couple verses you can share with others;
Matthew 11:16-17 [Jesus said] “To what can I compare this generation? It is like children playing a game in the public square. They complain to their friends, ‘We played wedding songs, and you didn’t dance, so we played funeral songs, and you didn’t mourn.’”
John 5:37-38 [Jesus said] “And the Father who sent me has testified about me himself. You have never heard his voice or seen him face to face, and you do not have his message in your hearts, because you do not believe me—the one he sent to you.”

The thing is, one day, “every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.”(Phil.2:11). My question is why wait until that day my friends? Why not make Jesus Christ the Lord of your life today? So, that every day, every decision, every move and every relationship in your present life will be blessed by the King of Kings! PEOPLE NEED THE LORD.

God bless you and keep you, Pastor Jeff
